Invisalign® Clear Braces

We are a Certified Invisalign Preferred Provider in Kirkwood, MO!

Consider Invisalign treatment to get the beautiful straight teeth you’ve always wanted — without braces. A complimentary consultation with Dr. Thomure or Dr. Grybinas can determine whether Invisalign clear aligners are right for you.

Invisalign is an innovative, modern approach used to effectively treat and correct a wide variety of orthodontic problems, ranging from mild single-tooth displacement, gaps in teeth, crooked teeth, and protruding teeth to complex arch form discrepancies involving spacing, crowding, overbite, underbite, occlusal wear, and more.

Kirkwood Station Dental has been awarded Preferred Provider status. Invisalign-trained providers have achieved a significant level of experience in treating patients with the Invisalign system. Preferred Providers have completed Invisalign’s provider courses and have been awarded a license to offer Invisalign.

What is it?

Invisalign treatment uses a series of virtually invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners that allow you to smile more during treatment as well as after. Invisalign clear aligners are made with 3D computer imaging technology and have been proven effective. More than 70% of dentists and orthodontists in the US and Canada are certified to administer Invisalign treatment.

Why would I want it?

Not only are the aligners virtually invisible, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment. Plus, brushing and flossing are no problem.

They are also more comfortable than traditional braces, with no metal or wires, which also usually means you spend less time in our Kirkwood dental office getting adjustments. Invisalign treatment also allows you to view your own virtual treatment plan when you start so you can see how your straight teeth will look when your treatment is complete.

How does it work?

You wear each set of aligners for about two weeks, and remove them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. Each clear plastic Invisalign aligner moves specific teeth a predetermined distance.

The aligners are made in a specific shape to put enough pressure on a tooth to move it approximately 0.25 mm in a two week period. This force replaces the force generated by the wires, springs, and rubber bands used in traditional orthodontic braces. The forces are sequential and continuous from the first aligner to the last until each tooth reaches its final straight destination.

You will visit our Kirkwood dental office every six weeks so Dr. Thomure or Dr. Grybinas can monitor your progress and you may receive your next series of aligners. Each numbered aligner is worn for two weeks. At the end of two weeks that aligner is set aside in a provided container and you will progress to the next set of aligners. Each is worn 22 hours a day to attain the force needed to move the teeth the required distance.

Treatment length is determined by the severity of the problem. The greater the number of teeth to be moved and the greater the distance, more aligners and therefore more time are required. A typical case takes approximately 12 months, and consists of 24 to 36 trays.

Kirkwood Station Dental always works with our patients to find the best solution for their need. Each Invisalign case has a customized treatment plan created specifically to treat your individual case.

We want our patients to be happy and receive custom treatment plans that prove to be most effective for their specific issues. We also provide teeth whitening in our office and sell gel that can be inserted into already-purchased Invisalign trays. The Invisalign trays then double as more than one treatment!
